Bangarra Dance Theatre is at 15 Hickson Road, on Dawes Point. The theatre was founded in 1989 as an indigenous Australian contemporary dance theatre. The brains behind it were Carole J. Johnson, Rob Bryant and Cheryl Stone. Bangarra is the Wiradjuri word meaning ‘to make fire’.
