Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park

England / Europe

Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park is a small zoo on the edge of Cannon Hill Park.  The zoo is built on what a former 16th century fulling mill, called Pebble Mill.  It was opened in 1964 by the Dudley Zoological Society to house and exhibit their collection of monkeys with two dromedaries for riding.  It closed in 1973 and the following year was taken over by Birmingham City Council.  In 2014 it became the conservation park.  A considerable variety of mammals can be found here.
