The Buddhist Temple on Gaze Road is one of twenty-four temples on Christmas Island, three of them being Buddhist. The network of Temples and Shrines on the island are a significant aspect of its heritage. In 2016 Buddhism was the religion of 18.1% of the population on Christmas Island.
