The Cathédrale du Sacré-Cœur is a modern Roman Catholic cathedral in Vanuatu. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Port-Vila. Cathédrale du Sacré-Cœur is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Catholics constitute 13% of the population. Furthermore, the first mass in Oceania was performed in 1606 when Pedro de Quiros, who settled in Vanuatu, landed with four priests and eight brothers, some of which were Franciscans and St John of God.
