The City Market is the main souvenir venue of Nairobi. It has dozens of stalls selling wood carvings, drums, spears, shields, soapstone, flowers, Maasai jewellery and clothing. There are stalls for foodstuffs with meat from different animals.
Variety, diversity, and the uniqueness of African crafts is prominent here. The Nairobi City Market is located between Muindi Mbingu Street and Koinange Street in the heart of the city. It has six gates which are manned on a 24-hour basis by guards employed by the council.
