The Colombo Cricket Club Ground was known as Khettarama Stadium until 1994. It was renovated in time to hold the 2011 Cricket World Cup. It houses cricket matches and warm-up matches for touring teams. The playing area takes up most of the space, leaving a narrow area for spectators on both sides. It can hold 35,000 spectators and had hosted more than 100 one day international matches. It is nicknamed ‘Home of Sri Lankan cricket.’
