Point of Interest

Colonial Secretariat

Nigeria / Africa

The old Colonial Secretariat was the main attraction of old Marina and Broad Street, an area which used to be the power block of the colonial power back then.  The building is famous for its English architectural setup. A pair of twin towers serve as a guarded front for security, overlooking the rest of the building.  The building was said to have been used by Lord Lugard (1858-1945) while directing the affairs of the Nigerian colony.  The building was completed in 1895.
