Command Ridge is the highest point of Nauru, with an elevation of 65 metres (213 ft). Passing close to Command Ridge is the boundary between Aiwo and Buada districts. This is where the Japanese kept watch after their invasion in the 1940s. Today there remain rusted WWII guns, including two large rotating six-barrel weapons. There is also a communications bunker, which it is possible to enter, armed with a flashlight or lantern. Some Japanese writing can still be detected there.
