The Community School is a secondary school for pupils aged between 11 and 16, which was established in 1992 and houses the public library (well stocked with fiction, non-fiction and multimedia resources) and the Falkland Islands Leisure Centre, including a 25-metre swimming pool. After the age of 16, education is conducted elsewhere, invariably in England at Peter Symonds College or Chichester College.
The school building was opened by Lord Shackleton, KG in 1992.
