Inema Arts Centre

Rwanda / Africa

Inema Arts Centre at KG 563 Street was founded in 2012 by two brothers, who were both self-taught painters, Emmanuel Nkuranga and Innocent Nkuranga with the mission to tap the untapped potential of art in Rwanda, to use creative expression as a way of bringing community and country alive, to provide exposure to creative people and to create opportunities for Rwanda’s most underserved communities while using creativity for a productive livelihood.  The centre provides space for ten artists in residence.  The gallery features portraits, and African contemporary arts and crafts.  It has yoga classes and dance performances, and there is a happy hour.
