Centenary Park is Rwanda’s first-ever public recreation centre and marked the city’s 100 years. It was opened on 12 November 2007 by the Defence Minister, General Marcel Gatsinzi (born 1948). It is situated in the environs of the Ministry of Defence headquarters. It then took some years to be completed.
