Kirribilli Wharf is a ferry wharf served by Sydney Ferries Neutral Bay services, operating between Circular Quay and Neutral Bay. Kirribilli is one of the city’s most affluent areas, taking its name from an Aboriginal word meaning ‘good fishing spot’. The opening of the Harbour Bridge made much residential development more attractive. Kirribilli is one of Australia’s oldest suburbs, the land being granted there by the colonial government during the 1790s. Several Georgian and Gothic-revival houses were built there in the 1830s.
