The La Vallette Underground Military Museum was created in the underground tunnels built by the Germans to store the fuel for their U-boats. The tunnels are now air-conditioned. The exhibition covers Guernsey’s military history, with military and occupation memorabilia from World War One and the German Occupation of the island from 1940 to 1945 during World War Two, as well as the island’s own militia. The wide range of exhibits gives a good impression of life at the time of the occupation. There is a shop for genuine military collectables and books.
