Lusaka Play House

Zambia / Africa

Lusaka Playhouse was founded on 9 June 1958 and provides a popular venue for local performers to organise shows such as music, comedy, and drama.  The club officially opened with an inaugural play ‘And So To Bed’ which was produced by Dorothy Martin.  Former President Kenneth Kaunda (1924-2004) once served as a Patron to the theatre.  In August 2006 arrays of activities were in the offing to commemorate 50 years of existence of Lusaka Theatre Club.
