The Iziko Maritime Centre is on the first floor of Union-Castle House on Dock Road. It tells the story of shipping, a long-time feature of life in Cape Town. There are many models of ships, both large and small, mainly concentrating on the famous Union-Castle Line. The John H. Marsh Maritime Research Centre is housed here and contains an archive of 20,000 photographs, depicting 9,200 ships from the late 1920s to the early 1960s.
