Memorial Park is a beautiful site, triangular in shape. It sits along the coastline and is surrounded by colonial mansions. It is dedicated to the soldiers of Belize who fought and fell in World War I. In the centre of the park stands a red marble obelisk, a memorial to the fallen, and here wreaths of poppies are laid on Armistice Day. The park has been reconstructed recently, is busy at weekends, but relatively quiet on weekdays.
