Mzizima Fish Market is one of the biggest and most active fish markets in the city due to its portside location. Here a variety of sea animals and local fish, caught by fishermen each morning, can be purchased. It affords a chance to learn about the local fishing methods. The market is a place of thronging activity. It was built in 2002 with Japanese money.
