The Ocean Road Public Park is the nearest beach to the city centre, within walking distance of Upanga. It has recently been renovated by the Government and now has solar streetlights, concrete benches every 100 metres along the park and a finely constructed footpath for jogging. The beach is noted for being well-maintained and there are strategically placed dustbins. Seldom crowded, it is not considered safe to visit after dusk.
