Rawson Square

Rawson Square is boarded on one side by Churchill Building, named after Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965), Britain’s wartime Prime Minister.

It contains a statue of Sir Milo Butler (1906-79), the last Governor of the Bahamas and first Governor General, who presided over Independence in 1973.
