Serenity Park was opened near the Sans Souci bridge, by the Hon Richard Frederick, Minister for Physical Planning, on 15 May 2011, the name being chosen by students of the Roman Catholic Boys Infant School, who won a competition to decide. It was built by local professionals from the world of architecture, engineering, and electrical works.  It is considered something of a national treasure, and is a popular venue for wedding photographs. It was blessed with a kweyol event, being incorporated into La Plas Kweyol activities in Castries in October 2011.
