St. Georges Cathedral is an Anglican church which is one of the grandest churches in Sierra Leone. This cathedral has the highest attendance rating than any other place of worship in Freetown. St. George’s Cathedral provides a welcoming respite from busy downtown. Erected in the early 1800s, it’s grand scale provides an interesting insight into Sierra Leone’s colonial past. The church was constructed under the colonial governors. Since then, Freetown has adapted and grown. The church’s old charm remains and it has been well looked after. Most notable about this Cathedral is the stained glass windows and beautiful organ.
