St Joseph’s Hospital is the first of the three medical centres in Tokelau. This concrete-framed hospital was funded by New Zealand as part of the Tokelau Government’s development programme. It is two-storeys high and is constructed to serve the community as not only a hospital, but also a refuge during storms and tidal surges.
