The Old Citrus Factory is now the office of the Forestry, Wildlife & Parks Division, standing near the Alliance Française and Petit Paris Bakery. Citrus has always been one of the main exports from Dominica, along with bananas and coconuts. For many years Dominica provided the fruit for Rose’s lime juice. In 1999, 21,000 tons of grapefruit, 1,000 tons of lemons and limes, and 8,000 tons of oranges were produced.
The Forestry Wildlife and Parks Division works on the reforestation of Dominica’s forests and is dedicated to spreading awareness of the conservation, protection and management of Dominica’s national parks, forests, flora and fauna.
