Edgbaston Cricket Ground

England / Europe

Edgbaston Cricket Ground, the County Ground or Edgbaston Stadium, is a famous cricket ground, generally considered to be one of England’s leading cricket grounds.  It is the home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club and its T20 Birmingham Bears.   Many Test matches have been played here.  In 2013 it was the first English ground other than Lord’s to host a major one-day tournament final – the ICC Champions Trophy.

The area was originally part of the Calthorpe estate, who leased it as a cricket ground in 1885.  The first Test match was staged here in the Ashes series against Australia in 1902.
