Holy Trinity Cathedral

Ghana / Africa

Holy Trinity Cathedral is an Anglican church in Accra, Ghana.  Completed in 1894, it is part of the Anglican Diocese of Accra in the Church of the Province of West Africa. The funding for the cathedral came from the British government and was initially patronised by colonial expatriates.  It was designed by Aston Webb (1849-1930), the man who redesigned the front façade of Buckingham Palace in London.  In 1909 the building received status as a cathedral on the creation of the Diocese of Accra.
