The St. Barnabas’ Anglican Cathedral is one of three Anglican cathedrals built in the Solomon Islands. It is a long open-air church, European in style, with some interesting touches inside. The statue of St. Barnabas outside the front door, though incongruous, is particularly appealing. The cathedral replaced the earlier temporary structure built in the 1950s, All Saints Cathedral, this one being built between 1961 and 1968, and formally consecrated on 16 June 1969.
The Prince of Wales attended a thanksgiving service here during his 2019 visit.
